Honey Entries Sought for Good Food Awards Competition

I am reaching out to you in regards to the fifth annual Good Food Awards that will be held in January 2015 in San Francisco.  This is our first year with a honey category and we would love your help spreading the word to local producers nationwide.

The Good Food Awards launches its fifth year with a call for entries to American food producers crafting the nation’s best in tasty, authentic and responsible foods. Entries are judged at a blind tasting with 150 food movement leaders. Entry period is open July 7th-August 1st at www.goodfoodawards.org ($65 fee to cover the cost of storing, sorting and transporting the entries). New and renewing members of the Good Food Merchants Guild receive one free entry.

We would like your help in spreading the word to honey producers about the Good Food Awards and are hoping to see a strong representation from the honey industry this year, as we know you have a burgeoning craft food scene. I have included a description of the awards above that you may circulate, and I’ve attached a “call for entries” PDF with a hyperlink to the Good Food Awards entry form that you can forward to producers (http://www.goodfoodawards.org/the-awards/entry-form/enter-your-honey/).

Please let me know if you need anything else, and thank you for your support. If producers have any questions about entering, please let them know they can get in touch with me via email: merissa@seedlingprojects.org or phone (415-447-3268). We look forward to recognizing some of the outstanding honey in your industry!

All the best,

Merissa Nathan Gerson
